GENERAL PURPOSE: The Business Intelligence (BI) Manager will serve as a Solution Architect and a Delivery Lead. This position requires deep MicroStrategy technical skills. In addition, he/she will have progressive experience in the BI space, with solid knowledge in all phases of the system development life cycle, such as, business requirements, design, development, testing and implementation. He/She will have deep expertise around industry best practices in Reporting, BI technology trends, retail knowledge and ability to develop solutions to implement key BI strategies. He/She will collaborate with various levels of IT and Business, while demonstrating effective written and oral communication skills, deep analytical skills, technical expertise, cross-functional retail knowledge, solution orientation, strategic thinking, and the ability to establish rapport at all levels of the organization. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: bull; Manage several BI projects occurring concurrently. These projects require detailed project plans to map out the delivery timelines, complex mix of resources - both on and off-shore, and multiple customers for approvals. bull; Provide leadership in developing standards, architectural governance, solution design patterns and IT best practices. Work with Business Analysts and Designer / Developers to create the right solution for each reporting need. Mentor the other IT staff to develop their BI technical skills. Provide technical guidance to both onshore and offshore team members. bull; Build Ross-specific knowledge of the various business units and how they interact. Use this knowledge, as well as a working understanding of the IT systems, to create BI solutions to meet reporting needs. Develop and demonstrate subject matter expertise in various retail cross-functional areas, such as, Merchandising, Planning, Allocation, Supply Chain, Stores, Finance or Logistics. Engage with these business units to develop long-term relationships in order to deliver quality reporting. bull; Work with other IT staff and gather / review business requirements, solution alternatives, and designs. Train, guide and mentor other IT staff in adapting standards, best practices to provide superior quality solutions for business requirements. Infuse architectural concepts like reusability, standards based, configuration driven, scaleable and manageable solutions. Provide support to other IT staff in high priority issue resolution as needed.
