The Role
This position will be responsible for:
• Delivering against MasterCard’s global and regional priorities balanced with customer’s business needs in a highly competitive, changing marketplace
• Developing a sales leadership position as a MasterCard payments expert with primary accountability to sell and launch solutions domestically for MasterCard
• Partnering outside sales prospects to define, manage and execute their payments strategy with a key focus on acceptance of MasterCard innovative products and solutions, as well as other MasterCard assets to differentiate that strategy
• Interacting with executive and senior levels at customer while also performing the necessary work to complete projects at mid to lower levels. Key metrics will include both protecting core fee revenue in Canada and diversifying revenue from alternative streams

Major Accountabilities
• Understand Canadian payments market and execute sales strategies to deliver against regional objectives including net revenue targets for existing and new customers
• Identify and promote strategic development opportunities that will drive MasterCard incremental revenue growth, market share and enhance mutual profitability.
• Develop financial modeling and business cases for identified opportunities
• Develop sales pipeline leveraging all available resources in coordination with the product development and account management teams
• Participate in high-level, interactive conversations with key decision makers around new or emerging product opportunities
• Analyze customers’ existing business through profitability modeling, financial forecasting and competitive analysis and recommend opportunities for additional revenue
• Work with team of MC subject matter experts to strategically articulate value propositions to close new business opportunities
• Execute and manage the customer contract agreement process, ensuring linkage of resources and information sharing
• Act as the primary point of contact between MasterCard prospects
• Develop strategic business plans through the provision of appropriate account and market intelligence and take responsibility for the implementation of those plans
• Develop and manage relationship between internal MasterCard partners including all disciplines within Global Products and Solutions, Legal, Finance, etc., to ensure cross-functional alignment
Experience
• 10 plus years sales experience within a related environment including a proven track record of using innovation to differentiate and drive value
• Demonstrated success in strategic/conceptual thinking
• Demonstrate multi-disciplinary knowledge, i.e. emerging technologies, marketing, operations
• Business case development, including financial analytics, budget preparation and management
• Ability to manage relationships both internally and externally across all levels
• Demonstrate proven ability to develop and successfully develop implement, quantifiable business plans
• First class selling skills:
o Demonstrates the ability to initiate, pursue and close a sale
o Strong influencing and negotiation skills
o Ability to think from the perspective of the customer
• Possess excellent relationship management skills:
o Internal advocate for customer account and/or industry to ensure organization is responsive to needs of the market
o Understands the diverse needs and objectives of various stakeholders
o Proactively builds business partnerships with customers and prospects to develop and strengthen relationships
• Builds consensus with others to gain co-operation
• Strong analytical, modeling (financial worksheets) and diagnostic capabilities
• Strong presentation skills including PowerPoint
• Minimum requirement of a Bachelor's degree; Masters degree desirable
