Business Manager – Cash Management Group
BlackRock’s Cash Management Group (CMG) is a market leader and one of the largest cash managers globally. BlackRock has managed cash portfolios since 1973. We serve a diverse range of client segments such as; banks, large corporations, insurance companies, asset managers, high net worth individuals, small businesses, municipalities (cities, states, etc.), foundations/estates, hospitals and universities. We reach clients via multiple means; financial intermediaries/third party sales, direct sales and portals. Position summary:
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of CMG International, the Business Manager role provides an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to gain experience in a business strategy and client focused group, engaging with sales people, portfolio managers and other BlackRock groups. The candidate will need to have in-depth experience of both Sales and COO functions within asset management, with a focus on Cash Management in particular, and will need to quickly establish an understanding of the BlackRock Cash client base, competing external products, EU regulatory context, plus be committed to enhancing the business operations of CMG.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary Project Manager for a wide range of technical and business strategy related projects; such as website migrations, CRM system migration, and electronic trading systems. Ensure business requirements are outlined, implemented and delivered within a short timeframe
- Will need to act as the on-going business owner for multiple platforms, including the CRM system and electronic trading platform
- Regular competitor analysis and in depth market research to monitor sales activity and identify sales opportunity pipeline. Develop and lead meetings to review sales pipeline.
- Primary cash contact for BlackRock’s institutional business. Liaise with sales team and assist in identifying and supporting Cash Opportunities within the institutional business and answering client queries
- Supporting the COO business management function by monitoring and enhancing regular management information and client reporting, plus supporting ad-hoc requests and the building of macro templates
- Providing leadership for strategic sales initiatives and product development
- Primary liaison between CMG Sales and other internal groups (e.g. CMG Portfolio Management Group, Finance, Global Client Group and Product Development)
- Lead the development and enhancement of all Internal and External Client reporting
- Liaison with Fund Accounting team and act as primary contact for Fund Performance metrics
Skills and Qualifications:
- 2:1 degree from top tier University
- IMC certification
- Experience within the Asset Management industry is essential. Experience should include;
- CRM database design - project management and business implementation is critical
- Project Management
- Business Analysis – in particular reporting and business modelling experience
- Background in Electronic Trading (an advantage)
- Experience in US markets (an advantage)
- Critical thinker with ability to absorb information quickly and understand complex issues, plus strong problem solving abilities
- Disciplined and organized with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Experience using BusinessObjects a must
- Strong quantitative skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, Macro and Bloomberg experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Team player, self-motivated, ability to work alone and with others in what can be a highly pressurized environment
