Business Manager
Opportunity exist for a Business Manager to work as part of the COO team.
Macquarie Securities Group (MSG) encompasses Macquarie's institutional stockbroking, equity derivatives and equity finance activities. MSG utilises its skills in research and risk management to develop equity-based financial solutions and services for clients globally. Within MSG, the COO team is responsible for business management and development. We are currently seeking interest for a Business Manager to join the Sydney office.
Working as part of this central team you will be responsible for:
- Business Development - evaluation of business opportunities and delivering products / initiatives to contribute to the group PL
- Cost management identifying cost saving opportunities
- Project Management - successful and timely implementation of key business initiatives, including resource management across MSG and support areas, project prioritisation and approval, project management and delivery
- Business analysis - documenting business processes, identifying operational improvements
- Risk management
- Management reporting and administration - producing and monitoring key management reports, expense review and approval, user access reviews, operations review, panel review, account management
- Regional operating committee and management reports

- Ability to quickly understand MSG's equity business and internal Macquarie business processes
- Effective project management, business and strategic planning skills

- An understanding of operational procedures and risk controls
- Ability to scope and document development requirements in support of business and operational initiatives

The successful candidates will possess:
- Project Management skills - formal project management accreditation will be highly regarded
- Tertiary qualifications in commerce, finance, business, IT, engineering or a comparable field. CA or CPA qualifications will be highly regarded
- Business analysis skills, experience in the delivery of projects or similar role in financial services.
- Knowledge of middle and back office processes for Derivative Products
- Knowledge of project methodologies, frameworks and tools.
- Ability to grasp new concepts quickly and take a pro-active approach to knowledge building both in relation to the business and systems landscape.
- Ability to work closely and provide analytical support to various members of project teams including: Business Representatives, Analyst Programmers, Operations Analysts and Test Analysts.
- Works well autonomously as well as within a team environment
- Strong problem solving skills, with accurate decision making abilities.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
