We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Business Manager GFX
In this role, you will
To provide management support for GFX (Global Foreign Exchange) business. That’s covers several areas:
CONTROLS
- Ensure controls framework are properly documented
- Be a point of contact for Front Office (FO) and Support Functions to answer questions and provide training when necessary
- Write incident reports and actions plans
- Help in preparing Audit (i.e. training, process review)
- Get Audit action plan implemented
- Perform several controls if necessary
BUSINESS CONTINUITY PLAN
- Ensure documentation is up to date
- Be the main point of contact for Support Functions and FO to manage Business Continuity Plan (BCP) test and answer questions
PROCEDURES
- Write/update FO and Middle Office procedures if necessary (her/himself or Middle Office (MO) team)
- Be able to get procedures accurate by interacting with all departments within the bank
MANAGEMENT INFORMATION (MI)
- Be able to build ah hoc MI if any request (her/himself or MO team)
- Identify automation opportunities and get them implemented in order to avoid operational risk and free up time for other value added tasks
PROJECTS
- Provide support to other GFX Business Managers in charge of local or global initiatives if necessary (ad hoc requests. Eg. Draft projects plans…)
- Lead projects related to Middle Office processes optimization (streamlining, automation, control reinforcement)
TROUBLE SHOOTING
- Manage day-to-day FO or Support Functions requests/issues and get them solved (her/himself or MO team)
MANAGEMENT AND MIDDLE OFFICE TASKS
- Lead a Middle Office team (3 pax currently)
- Accomplish staff results by communicating job expectations, objectives, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
- Maintains quality service
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Ensure the controls environment is properly set, understood and followed
- Perform bi-annual reviews of all Middle Office team member
- Handle Middle Office tasks
- Position keeping (lifecycle events, End Of Date checkout etc.)
- Query Management (query resolution, Economic Trade amendments, Deals amendment, Calendar updates, PL query resolution etc.)
- Key controls (Deal validation, Amend Cancels, Dummy Counterparts, Alleged deals etc.)
- Change (participate in writing of business requirements, UAT – User Acceptance Test testing etc.)
- Process improvement (identify opportunities to improve MO processes: reduce risk, reduce time consuming tasks)
- Interact with different functions
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements
- Degree holder (preferably Master in Finance)
- Strong experience in GFX Operations. Experience in internal IT systems, audit or operational risk are not mandatory but will be considered as a plus Good understanding of the GFX products
- Experience in management.
- Well developed leadership and people management skills, able to drive change and provide positive influence to achieve organization goals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluent in written and spoken English, able to negotiate and work effectively with senior business leaders across business lines and geographies
- Strong problem solving and prioritization skills and be able to perform multitasks under pressure with a keen eye for detail
- Excellent team player with a proactive and self motivated attitude and ability to think and act independently
- Experience in project management is a plus
