This position is focused on further developing and managing the PL for Thomson Reuters Machine Readable News offerings, including

• News Archive - a historical database of Reuters and select third-party news providers
• News Feed Direct - an ultra-low latency feed of highly structured news and economic data
• News Analytics - an automated news analysis solution measuring the sentiment, relevance, and novelty of text along with a host of other valuable metadata
• Referential News Service - a news and news analytics solution for the mid-to-back office

The successful candidate will have demonstrated industry leadership with a strong background in financial services and automated trading. The successful candidate will also have a detailed knowledge of quantitative investment and trading and the ability to understand clients' needs to identify future business opportunities

Essential Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Drives transformation of existing product practices through thought leadership and client interaction; able to successfully build and manage a strong team and work across the organization in various functions
• Demonstrates global leadership in the area of quantitative analysis
• Leads, directs, and approves all development plans, practices, policies, programs, and schedules for the machine readable news businesses. This will include all application development and integration, consulting services and platform maintenance
• Demonstrates proper blend of strategic and operational credentials; establishes a culture focused on creating value coupled with a culture of rapid and effective delivery of complex software solutions
• Identifies emerging text analytics technologies to potentially be assimilated, integrated, and introduced within the company

Skills

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Business - Finance emphasis preferred; advance degrees preferred

• Ability to execute: A track record of driving results. Is a global strategic leader who will be hands-on as required
• Strategic acumen: Develops a clear and compelling vision and strategy that will help constantly transform the firm's products
• Leads people to perform and drive execution in a complex organization: Anticipates and probes issues and contingencies with the early involvement of others, creates a culture that translates strategies into specific goals, tactics, action plans and deliverables. Drives accountability and makes timely decisions and tough calls on enterprise issues and opportunities. Demonstrated ability to work well in a matrix environment
• People skills and management development capabilities: Has worked within and helped establish high-performing working cultures, teams and leadership across the organization. Hires ""A"" talent and is well regarded as a developer of high potentials/high performers as well as senior talent. Strong team leader with ability to manage large team (10-30 people).
• Strategist: Possess the ability to balance the role of strategist while simultaneously managing and delivering results in a transforming, entrepreneurial, and fast paced environment
• Communication: Applies inspiring and articulate verbal and written communication ability to translate the vision/strategy into clear priorities and direction.

• Drives organizational change through skilled communications; effective at collaborating across organizations functions
