Overview:
Deutsche Bank's Corporate Investment Bank (CIB) division comprises three businesses - Markets, Corporate Finance and Global Transaction Banking (GTB.)
Within Corporate Finance, CMTS is essentially a sales force which delivers financing, risk management, treasury products and solutions to our clients with a focus on Markets and GTB products. The region is structured predominantly into country teams and aligned with a number of specialist teams such as Liability Management, Ratings Advisory and Capital Solutions.
CIB in Birmingham is looking for a Business Manager. The Business Management team support the CMTS business and in particular the regional and individual country heads. Business Managers are often the first port of call from various infrastructure and support functions within the bank. As such, the Chief Operating Officer (COO)/BM community is often referred to as the face of the business internally. It is expected that Business Managers should have an in-depth knowledge of areas ranging from Compliance, Legal and Risk to Finance, planning and cost control. A general understanding of the running of an investment bank is also required.
Key Responsibilities:
The role of a Business Manager is an interesting position to hold within an Investment Bank. Over time, the candidate will get exposure to almost every aspect of the day to day running of a front office business. Tasks and responsibilities vary extensively. Some of the key tasks/responsibilities are listed below:
*Preparation of presentations for senior management
*Financial Reporting and Analysis
*Budgeting/Forecasting
*Managing and controlling costs
*Understand the revenue credit (RC) reporting system from across all products in CIB.
Regular (weekly/monthly) reporting requirements in relation to Deal Highlights and Regulatory Capital (RC) reconciliations.
You will have:
*A management Accountant or Accounting background
*Relevant experience having previously worked in Investment Banking/Financial Services
*Superior communication skills (written and verbal) with strict attention to detail
*Good presentational skills and be able to work with minimal supervision
You will be:
*Educated to degree level
*Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, able to model, automate spreadsheets and create basic databases in Excel with pivots, and vlookups.
*Be highly motivated with a strong willingness to learn and take on new challenges
*Diligent, efficient and able to manage multiple conflicting deliverables including working under pressure
*A good team player who can work with both peers and senior management
