Project Unicorn is a global programme which will enable the transfer of assets and liabilities from RBS NV to RBS plc. Unicorn is significantly complex in APAC with business spanning approximately 150 legal entities and 9 countries. APAC Unicorn Programme requires strong leadership to deliver the transfer of branch assets and subsidiaries in Indonesia and Thailand in 2012.
Description
Transaction Services offers cash and liquidity management, transactional FX and trade finance services to clients across 10 markets in Asia.
The Business Manager assists the Head of Transaction Services Product Asia on all relevant matters and is responsible for ensuring the business is on track in delivering against targets from a Product Management perspective as well as serves as the key contact point for multifunctional partners on all Product Management related matters. He/she is also fully responsible to managing overall risk issues in product management as well as lead strategic projects that impact the longer term success of the Transaction Services business.
Supporting the Head of Transaction Services Product Asia
- Human resources, succession planning and overall talent management of the Product team.
- Developing product strategy as well as aligning and communicating the strategy to all relevant stakeholders.
- Draft thought leadership as well as internal / external marketing material.
- Business analysis, identifying key issues and recommend changes to ensure success of the business.
- Developing monthly, quarterly and yearly business updates and ensuring key asks are addressed.
- Initiative tracking and follow up to ensure delivery against targets.
Strategic Project Leadership
- Market intelligence covering client understanding and competitor landscape.
- Enabling our sales staff – ensuring that all sales staff have the requisite product knowledge to optimize their sales capabilities.
- Strategic process re-design to ensure optimization of resources.
- Building channels for effective multifunctional collaboration across International Banking around the globe.
- Managing strategic product investment plans and ensuring delivery of the same.
Risk Management
- Ensuring the timely and quality delivery of quarterly assurance testing for Transaction Services Product Asia.
- Managing all audit items and ensuring closure of any issues.
- Representing TSP Asia at regional and global risk forums to ensure closure of all risk-related issues.
- Development and maintenance of governance processes around deal intake and pricing.
Experience:
Required:
- 6-8 years relevant work experience
- Strategy formulation and consulting
- Leading multifunctional projects, particularly on process improvements
- Financial analysis
- Market research
Desirable:
- Transaction banking sales or product management
Technical Knowledge
Required:
- Microsoft office suite of products – Excel, Powerpoint, Word
- Strong ability to work with numbers
- Skills such as time and task management, interpersonal sensitivity, delegation, computer proficiency
- Evidence of success in achieving results by leadership, persuasion, education, quality or argument, logic influence
Desirable:
- Transaction Services product knowledge – payments, collections, liquidity, investments, trade
- Good knowledge and orientation towards Operational risk, Compliance and regulatory requirements
- Understanding of Global Transaction Services Products, operations and process
- Reasonably good understanding of the global economy, policies, trends etc
- Understanding of cost / value dynamics associated with GTS FX products
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Excellent presentation and clear communication skills
- Accurate and methodical, eye for detail
- Numerate, PC literate and analytical as well as results oriented. •
