The Operational Research group within Business Modelling is a rapidly growing team that applies a wide range of Operational Research techniques to solve client's physical and operational problems across all industry sectors. Assignments cover a wide range of countries and industry sectors.

Your responsibilities as an Operational Research professional will include:

- Highly involved throughout the life-cycle of a modelling assignment - covering requirements definition, specification, design, development, implementation and user training

- Taking the leading role in the design and build of complex models

- Managing model development assignments, supervising the project team and providing guidance and professional development for team members

Qualifications/skills needed as an Operational Research professional:

- Possess an Operational Research or related first or higher degree qualification

- Highly numerate with a strong technical knowledge and experience of applying formal Operational Research approaches such as optimisation and/or simulation

-Strong model development experience using Visual Basic (not just VBA) or other object-oriented development language, with experience of a wider range of languages desirable (eg Visual C++, Java). Such experience should include developing models containing complex algorithms within a highly user-friendly front-end

- Familiarity and experience with packages and development environments is highly advantageous. Including simulation products (eg Witness, Arena, Simul8) and optimisation products (CPlex, Xpress-MP)

- Ability to work with model users to identify their particular needs, to design and specify solutions, and to implement

- Experience of database development for storage of modelling data.
