Business Objects Administer Job in Kansas City 64198, Missouri US

This is considered a Senior position of the Information Systems job family.  Provide an extensive level of Business Objects Enterprise XI3 and Informatica 8.6 ETL platform support.  Supply technical middleware expertise to large business system consultations and problem resolution.   Performs functions to install and implement new systems and modify existing applications to meet the goals of the organization.  Plans, organizes, and coordinates projects or phases of projects. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with customers, developers, and coworkers.

 

Key Activities

·         Administer and support server infrastructure for multiple environments on Windows environment

·         Work with application developers to troubleshoot and tune applications. 

·         Applies high-level technical skills and expertise to complex business systems and problems.

·         Coordinates major installations, updates, maintains and monitors the operation of the major systems Responsible for change management through existing systems and platforms for patches and development changes, including moving projects from development servers to production servers.

·         Establishes and maintains procedures/documentation for supported automation products.

·         Responsible for application of policies related to data access and permission management.

·         Plans, organizes, and coordinates complex projects or phases of large projects.

·         Responsible for application performance and optimization efforts.

·         May provide lead oversight to a technical team.

·         Performs other duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications

·      Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university preferred

·      At least three years Informatica Power Center  v8 and Business Objects R3 support that includes installing, configuring, administering, and patching.

·      Working administration knowledge of Windows 2008

·      Strong skills in new product evaluation, architecture, implementation, and integration with Data Warehouse (DW) and Business Intelligence (BI) application

·      Strong problem analysis and problem resolution skills from an O/S, database, and application perspective, with proven ability to recognize and execute process improvements

·      SQL Database 2005 and 2008 a plus

·      WebSphere knowledge a plus

·      Ability to work well with clients and individually as well as in a high collaborative team.

·      Strong written and verbal skills as well as presentation skills

·      Ability to absorb and understand business requirements quickly.

·      Self-motivated with ability to work effectively and cooperatively with both project and infrastructure teams and to work both independently and as part of a larger team

·      Demonstrated trend to stay current with technology

·      Position may require weekend or evening hours and being on call

·      Travel may be required which includes overnight absences and multi-day trips
