Business Office Manager
Essential Job Functions
- Communicates will all members of the health care team to assure continuity of care for the patient
- Provides direction and guidance to staff. Serves as a resource to business office staff
- Encourages staff to keep current on health care issues and billing collection issues and promotes continuing education; allows time for inservice education
- Gives feedback to employees; publicly acknowledges positive performance
- Encourages a positive team attitude within the entire organization
- Displays professionalism at work and in the community as a representative of the surgery center
- Organizes the department workload and establishes work standards to ensure efficiency and productivity
- Has a thorough knowledge of all functions in the business office
- Assists with performance evaluations; provides feedback on work performance to staff on a continual basis; counsels staff as necessary
- Reviews staffing plan and determines the number of personnel that are required to provide services
- Assumes overall responsibility for charges generated in surgery center.
- Performs billing and collecting functions in an efficient, timely fashion according to the Business Office Policies
- Reviews time sheets, monitors vacation, sick and education time, in conjunction with the Administrator
- Monitors the confidentiality, security and safe storage of the medical records and ensures the timely retrieval of medical records upon request
- Ensures that medical records are completed in a timely manner
- Maintains a friendly, positive, caring attitude with all patients, physicians, and staff
Qualifications:
- Must have at least one to two years medical office management experience
- High School Diploma, college degree preferred
- Demonstrable, dedication to customer service
- Experience in managing employees
