Business Operations Associate – Global Statistical Sciences
The Global Statistical Sciences Operations team is responsible for ensuring business operations, quality operations, and sourcing operations responsibilities are carried out effectively and with high quality on behalf of the global statistics organization. The Business Operations Associate – Global Statistical Sciences is responsible for providing technical leadership and process ownership for GSS operations. This role will focus on implementing and managing key GSS operations processes both internal and those intersecting with vendors.
KEY OBJECTIVES/DELIVERABLES:
- Organizational Process Support
Maintain and optimize a comprehensive Book of Work across GSS to enable accurate resource planning and capacity management, metrics, and forecasting. Manage implementation of operational processes of the GSS Sourcing Strategy with respect to external vendor(s). Provide vendor management for central operations processes, including issue resolution, tracking and monitoring. Contribute subject matter expertise, initiative, and leadership to the development of organizational change management strategies with respect to new/updated processes. Provide technical content and leadership to the development of communications and training material to drive understanding and uptake of new processes and responsibilities. Serve as a communications / consultation point for the internal GSS organization, external partners, and intersecting DCOE functions on GSS operations processes. Proactively define, measure, and drive achievement of group proficiency with new operational processes and the application of best practices. Coordinate the network(s) of subject matter experts and process champions throughout the GSS organization that provide the broad process content, knowledge, and expertise. - Process Strategy Leadership
Drive adoption, communication, and optimization of best practices and specific operation business processes. Proactively identify, monitor and communicate customer needs/requirements related to process and performance and enhancements. Define, deliver, and continuously improve global operational processes to facilitate the reliable planning and execution of deliverables and management of the GSS business. Build and/or strengthen relationships between key providers or customers, including internal GSS staff, other DCOE functions, business unit partners and vendors to ensure best operational process implementation and execution. Build strong partnerships with and act as interface to Medical Quality, Training, DCOE Sourcing, and other central support functions to ensure best coordination of GSS operational support - Process Improvement
Continually seek and implement means of improving processes to reduce cycle time and decrease work effort. Represent GSS operational processes in cross-functional initiatives. Actively participate in shared learning across GSS. Work with partners to exchange process innovations, best practices and shared learning
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors Degree (or equivalent work experience)
- Minimum of 4 years experience in clinical development (e.g. statistics, clinical operations, data management, information technology, health outcomes, etc.).
- Demonstrated expertise with operational processes and technology.

- Experience / familiarity with statistics deliverables.
