The role: Business Process and Compliance Specialist
You will define and implement processes to mitigate risk while maintaining fast and efficient deal flow. You will balance the compliance requirements we face with the urgent and dynamic needs of Google's sales teams, its customers, and the company as a whole. You will work closely with the sales, legal, finance, product, and operations teams to project manage business initiatives in various areas of the company, and will be responsible for the end-to-end process (scoping, analysis, system implementation, and project managing contributions of cross functional individuals). The ideal candidate is an independent, solution-oriented, organized, and process-driven individual with exceptional communication skills and hands-on experience in a highly variable, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Drive cross-functional business projects across the organization; define, implement, and maintain processes and procedures to support global sales, finance, product, and marketing teams; develop and implement scalable compliance systems and controls.
- Identify and address pain points and mitigate risk by implementing necessary governance procedures into the sales process while at the same time enabling innovation and efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and measure the impact of initiatives to make noticeable improvements on an ongoing basis; re-engineer existing processes to drive efficiency, automation, and scalable solutions.
- Lead efforts to provide reporting and metrics to help drive executive decision making; work with Business Partners to continuously refine and communicate the appropriate thresholds by which certain deals and agreement types require escalation.
- Proactively identify gaps or conflicts in existing process framework, develop scalable solutions, influence decision-making with senior-level executives, and work to win consensus across the organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree (In lieu of degree, 8 years of relevant experience).
- 8 years of experience in sales operations and risk management/internal controls.
Preferred Qualifications:
- JD and/or MBA.
- 8 years relevant work experience.
- Experience working cross-functionally among teams and business groups, consulting/internet background; legal interest/knowledge.
- Experience implementing projects, developing ability to thrive in a demanding, change-oriented, fast-paced environment requiring a high degree of deadline-driven productivity.
- Excellent leadership, organization, communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills. Excellent written, editorial and presentation skills, innovative, organized, through and detail oriented.
- Familiarity with/background in systems implementations (CRM, internal workflow/sales).
