Business Process Developer

 

Reporting to the IT/Finance Manager, the Business Process Developer is accountable for setting up leading edge programs to effectively document our companies internal and external processes. The processes span across three operating companies in Canada and the US that have grown and changed significantly in the past year.  The candidate will be responsible for documenting the current as well as optimal processes while identifying and resolving process gaps. This position will be responsible for breaking down individual and departmental knowledge stocks and will be a key leader in helping to create a learning culture based on accessible knowledge flows.

 

The right person will gain a full understanding of the inter-workings of this fast paced, growing Food Manufacturer.  This job entails approximately 50% leading meetings with key stakeholders of each business process and 50% writing and documenting those processes in an organized, presentable, and adjustable fashion. You will have access to the entire employee base.  This person must be resourceful, have an understanding of how to create and write professional processes across the entire company, be a solid communicator, build and maintain relationships and have the ability to stay organized and manage many different projects.

 

Responsibilities will include:

·                      Organizing and executing meetings with individuals and departments to document current processes while understanding newly implemented systems, mapping out improvements where possible in an effort to create future processes

·                      Identifying and documenting inefficiencies in the current process

·                      Tracking and completing business process related action items arising from identified process gaps

·                      Creating process model documentation to communicate new processes

·                      Implementing effective Change Management tools

·                      Documenting methodology and optimized processes in detail

·                      Capturing definitions of roles supporting / acting in the business processes

·                      Mapping/Documenting current roles and responsibilities of the staff and other relevant stakeholders

·                      Liaising with IT and other groups (Supply Chain Management, Human Resources, etc.) as required to develop platforms for process improvements

·                      Assisting with the reduction and/or elimination of duplicate, inconsistent and redundant processes and information

·                      Involved in the creation of documentation and training materials and may be required to deliver training during implementation

·                      Facilitates the development, assessment and implementation of key business performance indicators (KPI's)

Skills and Experience:

·                      3 years experience in the Project Management Process and/or Business Analyst Process

·                      University degree or equivalent experience

·                      Must possess strong analytical skills and have demonstrated the ability to be highly creative in formulating solutions

·                      Should be a forward thinker with skills as a change agent

·                      Excellent communication skills

·                      Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment and managing multiple projects through effective prioritization and tight deadlines

·                      Experience in performing business process reengineering

·                      Creative when solving problems – outside the box thinking, a thoughtful challenger of the status quo

·                      Experience in structured methodologies for the identification of user requirements and the development of technical specifications

·                      Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision making skills, organizational creativity and perseverance skills

·                      Manages relationships and works effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization

·                      Self-motivated with strong project management skills.
