Position Summary
The Business Project Manager will be responsible for covering Equity, FICC and Alternatives solutions desks in Asia for all structured products and derivatives. The role includes advising the asset class partners on deal structure and development of new ideas, as well as assisting with structuring transactions and review ISDA Master Agreements and related contracts in cooperation with PB legal. The Project Manager will be responsible for review and approval of all offering documents (e.g., prospectus, supplements and term sheets), liaising with internal risk and compliance departments to determine pre-trade compliance/suitability procedures, and instructing internal/external counsel and counter-parties where necessary. Additionally, the Project Manager will be responsible for coordination and documentation for onboarding new counterparties as well as participation in the product approval process for new products or issuers.
A good knowledge in derivatives and structured products is required as well as ability to demonstrate a hands-on and analytical approach and to transfer knowledge to new circumstances. The ability to negotiate documents independently and with little supervision is also required.
Given that the role spans across all products and solutions groups within the private bank, the Project Manager will be exposed to a broad spectrum of transactions. The role will require close partnership with the asset class leaders, risk management, legal and sales management and will be considered the first point of contact for a variety of queries. As a result, this is a very attractive role with great development potential within an innovative product area.
The Project Manager assumes a pivotal role on the Structuring team, serving as a lead for all derivative and structured product related projects and product development.
Responsibilities
- Participate in strategic decisions related to transaction pipeline and calendar and all aspects of a structured transaction including: offering documents, legal documentation sign-off and opinions; risk guidelines and ensuring successful close including funding.
- Provide input and new ideas to contribute to the development and enhancement of structures platform.
- Responsible for mid-stream transaction management from concept to close by quarterbacking cross-functional relationships with: asset class leaders, product and platform, middle office, JPM IB or 3rd party issuer trading desks, corporate tax, legal and risk
- Assist with managing new business initiatives and new issuer/program/product launches across Equity, Fixed Income, FX, Commodities, and Global Access Portfolios
- Negotiate legal documentation for onboarding of 3rd party issuers in partnership with the PB legal department.
- Work with internal and external legal counsel to analyze and comment on offering materials including the prospectus, supplements and term sheets.
- Read/review all legal documents including requisite legal opinions.
Partner with the solutions desks to ensure marketing materials present clear, balanced messages to highlight key marketing points and investment considerations. - Coordinate ongoing relationship management with issuers, marketers and J.P. Morgan internal and external service partners (e.g., middle office and counterparty business and operational groups).
- Assist in preparation organization of a quarterly third party dealer review based on feedback from the solutions desks and Product Platform internal partners.
- Assist in post-close monitoring of structures as required (e.g., issue resolution for mark-to-market, unwind communications).
- Actively assist in addressing ad hoc issues (e.g., pricing, unwinds).
- Utilize appropriate firm and industry resources to complete competitor analysis as required.
Skills
