Job Description
The Risk Business Analyst will be a member of the Enterprise Risk Management Credit Office based in Munich. He/she will be responsible for performing Risk Management activities such as analysis and reporting and support the department to create a solid risk infrastructure by enhancing systems and data and actively participating in project activities. Furthermore he/she will engage in defining new and improving existing risk management processes to attain efficiency gains, meet regulatory requirements and respond to new business opportunities.
Overview Job Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will bring an extended understanding of risks (e.g. market/ALM risk, credit risk, operational risk) and of the impact of different variables on risk positions. Futhermore he/she will:
Analyze and process financial data related to client and bank portfolios.
Produce monthly and quarterly reportings on counterparty risk incl. country risk and concentration risk.
Design and implement procedures and processes in a way to ensure compliance with regulation and internal policies whilst living up to international best practice.
Continuously improve existing processes and workflows within area of responsibility and beyond.
Interact and closely cooperate with other control groups (e.g. Compliance, Legal, Audit, Regulatory Reporting) within SSB GmbH and the broader State Street organization.
Contribute, support and lead project activities and closely collaborate with IT teams.
Collect and draft business requirements for implementation
Provide advice concerning risk data and systems-related issues within area of responsibility
Work proactively and in an independent manner to drive forward assigned tasks.
Provide thought leadership on the way to solve complex tasks and analyses.
The ideal candidate will bring:
At least 2 years work experience in the financial industry in an analytical role with exposure to project activities
Degree in economics, mathematics or computer sciences
Keen interest for the financial industry and regulatory environment (Basel II-III, KWG, InvG)
Quantitative and analytical skills
Extensive knowledge of Excel incl. VBA and MS Access are a must and SQL skills would be desirable
Good understanding of databases and IT structures
Commitment to quality, sense for detail and strong organizational skills
Problem solving attitude and hands-on mentality
Ability to work under pressure in a challenging, fast changing, international environment
Ability to communicate effectively, positively influence and build consensus in both German and English
