Business Services Compliance Manager
Our client is a broker dealer looking for an individual to take on the role of Business Services Compliance Manager. The role will entail assisting the Head of Compliance Risk in the implementation and maintenance of an effective compliance risk framework, strategy, as well as, appropriate procedures and controls for Business Services, mitigating regulatory risks across the Business Services function ('the function').
Role Responsibilities:
* To oversee, manage, implement and maintain the function's compliance with all applicable aspects of CASS rules, extending this responsibility to the mainstream market making business.
* To possess a thorough up-to-date understanding of other regulatory issues (for example RDR, Transaction Reporting, Complaints, TCF), new legislation, company policies and products in order to ensure the Function conducts its activities in accordance with regulatory requirements.
* To manage the day-to-day oversight of activity, escalating issues to the Head of Compliance Risk, as appropriate.
* To report effectively to the Head of Compliance on key themes, status of issues and regulatory risks, assisting in the compiling of the monthly Compliance report, supplying reports to Management, as and when requested.
* To implement a risk based Compliance Monitoring programme relevant to the Function's business.
* To continue to develop, maintain and update compliance policy and procedures in relation to the Business Services Function.
* To manage maintenance of Segregation of Duties and Chinese wall arrangements for the Business services function.
* To assist the Head of Compliance in the approval of marketing, and advertising to ensure all such items meet FSA requirements.
* To act as a central point of contact for all Function Compliance queries, dealing promptly or escalating regulatory and/or internal procedure breaches to the Head of Compliance.
* To review applications by prospective clients from the perspective of regulatory compliance and reputation risk.
* To act as the key compliance contact for the associated compliance functions in the Business Services client base.
Personal Qualifications:
* Ability to formulate and implement compliance policy, strategy and monitoring
* Excellent organisational, written and verbal communication skills
* Detailed understanding of the regulatory framework
* Detailed knowledge of CASS rules
* Detailed knowledge of Retail Compliance issues
