The role: Business Strategist, Strategic Operations Your job will be to spearhead these analyses and drive impactful change in the organization through a combination of opportunity identification, project management, data analysis, and executive-level presentation. You'll be an individual contributor that will serve as an analytics and operations expert supporting one or more of the functional PQO teams. Responsibilities: Become an expert in the data available in disparate sources and use this information to conduct business analyses and recommend improvements to our reporting infrastructure Conduct complex data analysis and make recommendations (cost-benefit, risk-coverage-quality, invest-divest, forecasting, impact analysis) that significantly impact the organization Use statistical techniques to model complex relationships between multiple sets of variables to develop new abuse detections signals, measure team impact, and prioritize abuse fighting methods Create quantitative models including forecast, operational, and financial models of business dynamics; deliver effective presentations of findings and recommendations to multiple levels of stakeholders; and understand Google's product policy enforcement and risk strategy in order to effectively tailor data analysis and recommendations Manage projects with multiple stakeholders both within and outside the organization, and identify and recommend opportunities to increase efficiency, quality, and impact to PQO leadership Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree. In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience 4 years relevant work experience SQL coding, Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VBA macros etc.), ability to handle large data sets, and experience setting requirements for or developing performance dashboards. Preferred Qualifications BA or MS in statistics, or substantial experience implementing statistical models (including linear/logistic regressions and hypothesis testing) 5 years of operational work experience in a global environment Proficiency in R or another statistical programming language (Stata, Matlab, etc.); familiarity with programming languages (Python, Shell scripting, VBA, Java, PHP, JavaScript, C, etc.) Demonstrated ability to synthesize information to see big picture while effectively managing detail Distinctive problem solving skills with a high degree of analytical rigor; proven experience identifying opportunities for business improvement, and defining and measuring the success of those initiatives Excellent organizational and project management skills, including excellent presentation development with strong written and verbal communication skills
