Business Support Analyst – Calypso

The first fund was launched in 2000 and has gained an impressive track record since, having won various Eurohedge awards. BlueCrest now has approximately 400 people across offices in Guernsey, London, New York, Boston, Geneva and Singapore.

The Team

The Business Support team is a relatively new structure providing support and production management for applications responsible for trade booking, position management, PL, downstream delivery, settlement and reconciliation for the whole of BlueCrest. The candidate will benefit from a breath of exposure across both business and technology and will have an opportunity to be par of the creation of a new team with all the career benefits this carries.

The Role

This is not an ordinary support role. This position requires an individual with exceptional business analysis and technical skills across a variety of applications and technologies making up the BlueCrest production environment, including in-debt knowledge of the Calypso framework.

You will handle user queries from Operations, Product Control and Risk across the technology stack that we own and look after, including but not limited to alerts monitoring, issue investigation, problem resolution and support comunication. You will provide release validation and execution; participate in the occasional out-of-hours support to the first line cover in Singapore and New York.

You will also be involved in business-driven changes aiming to improve the business processes in place and the associated production environment.

• You will ideally have good A level grades in numerical subjects and a strong degree from a major academic institution

• You should have an in-depth knowledge of the processes and procedures in the back and middle office of a bank / hedge fund – Essential

• You should have knowledge of the life cycle of exchange traded instruments (e.g. Futures, Equities, Bonds) and OTC products including FX, Rates, Swaps and Credit - Essential

• You should have experience of the Calypso application – Essential

• You will have worked in a support or business analysis capacity for a bank or hedge fund – Desirable

• You will have a proven ability to support dynamic business environments using complex technology and processes – Essential

• You will have experience working with and successfully communicating with IT professionals and end users at all seniority levels - Essential

• You will have experience working with Operations and/or Product Control functions – Essential

• Calypso – preferably version 9 or above – Essential

• SQL with Oracle DBMS (incl. stored procedures) – Essential

• SQL Server experience – Desirable

• Linux, Solaris (including shell scripting) – Essential

• Windows OS power user (including shell scripting) – Desirable
