Business Support Manager – Operations recruitment

The successful candidate will have responsibility for the following deliverables and activities:

• To identify emerging issues and summarise them to the attention of the Director and their management team.

• To lead specific projects within the directorate and with our key suppliers.

• Overseeing the production, authorisation and utilisation of the Operations budget, including staffing, contractor procurement and interim procurement. Analysis of monthly accounts, maintenance of Finance Forecast.

• To work with the Programme Management Office to ensure that the Directorate’s key risks are reflected within the risk log, and are actively managed

Candidate requirements Experience required:

• A high level of enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved, at the coal face.

• Management support to an organisation and effective team work.

• Working in a structured, business project management environment. 

• Working at senior management level.

• Working successfully with a wide range of stakeholders, some of whom might be  challenging.

• Operations and or Pensions sector experience (not required but highly desirable).

Personal attributes required

• At least first degree educated, ideally in a numerate subject.

• Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in planning and reporting

• First class interpersonal communication skills

• Ability to absorb and analyse documents and information and communicate findings in a clear manner

• Ability to build successful working relationships across a diverse working culture

• Commitment and motivation to finish tasks

• Strong commercial acumen

• Team player, confident and willing to challenge, able to manage conflict
