Business Transition Project Manager
Can you be part of the team guiding this institution through a crucial period that will define its future?
This organisation is looking for an outstanding individual to work alongside its leadership team as our ownership and governance structure is reviewed. They need to identify its preferred ownership and governance model by around July 2014.
About the role
You will manage the project, in a hands on way, that will help the organisation formulate the most appropriate governance and ownership structure, allowing us to continue delivering world-leading environmental science and the facilities that support it, while remaining financially viable and able to carry on investing in excellent people.
The main tasks in this pivotal role are to:
·Identify and document the most appropriate governance and ownership model, capturing the benefits and risks
·Prepare an operational business plan covering the next five, and then 10 years, and
·Consult and involve our staff and stakeholders.
Working to the Director of Finance and Operations, with Directorate and the Heads of Finance and People and Skills, 2 change facilitators, as well as other Senior Managers across the centre, you will:
· Ensure we capture and document all the necessary evidence
· Consult with external advisors to gather data
· Collate input from internal and external stakeholders
· Identify the conditions and KPIs required by a successful model and
· Help produce the submission to the owner
About you
You will have proven ability to undertake a strategic role implementing significant business change. You will be accustomed to working across boundaries, liaising with internal and external stakeholders and expert advisors. The role requires a thorough understanding of effective change management, and proven ability in the following is essential:
· Business case preparation
· Managing complex projects
· Financial planning and/or market analysis
· Stakeholder Communication
· Negotiation and influencing
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Understanding of public and charity sector business operations.
A good degree and business/management qualification are desirable.
