We are currently working with our client to identify critical members of their Finance team, specifically for a key business transition and divisional oversight role. Our client is a rapidly growing Western New York division of a national publicly traded company – they have been growing organically and making strategic acquisitions on a consistent basis for the past five plus years. Their business model is highly unique to Western New York, and this opening is an excellent opportunity for a strong operations finance, FPA, or corporate accounting professional with strong project management and leadership skills to transition into a highly visible divisional management role. The Business Unit Accounting Manager will report to the Director of Corporate Accounting, and will work hand in hand with executive management in the planning and execution of their corporate strategic finance plan, specifically as it relates to integrating prior acquisitions. Understanding accounting information systems, process improvement, project management, and acquisition integration will be critical components of this role. The successful candidate will work directly with upper management and executives to execute their strategic plan of helping centralize accounting and reporting functions, in addition to providing ad hoc analysis and completing special projects as needed, and much more. Our client is looking for someone with a strong foundation in accounting and reporting, including the following:
· Strong systems and applications skills, particularly with Excel, Access, and various databases/sources.
· Strong leadership skills – specific prior management experience is required
· Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize in a tight deadline, high impact, high expectation environment
· Flexible and able to adapt and react to solve problems on the fly
Required Qualifications: 6+ years of combined financial reporting and accounting experience
Desired Qualifications: MBA or CPA
Education: Bachelors in Accounting or Finance
Travel: Significant travel required for the first 6-8 months (50-60%), which will decline to normal business travel after that time (10%)
