International manufacturer and distributor of personal care beauty products seeks an experience printing and packaging Buyer for our Los Angeles facility. This employee will assist in the efficient and effective procurement of goods and services.

HIGHLY DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

Duties will include communicating with various inter-company departments as well as the vendor community. Must have prior purchasing and MRP experience. Manufacturing experience highly desired.  Critical skills needed in vendor sourcing/qualification, vendor negotiating, MRP systems, relevant experience in manufacturing industry, and corrugated packaging or printing industry experience.

Ideal candidate will be analytical and detail-oriented. Teamplayers with positive attitudes and good communication and interpersonal skills a must. We need a quick-learner and a resourceful individual for this position.

PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

1. Monitoring all purchase orders to effect the greatest savings within

reasonable delivery times. In addition, this monitoring process will include

coding, product, vendor, and other checks as may be necessary from time to

time.

2. Entering data to maintain purchase order log books.

3. Providing timely turn-around on all requisitions and purchase orders to

insure adequate delivery of goods and services.

4. Maintaining procurement documents in a systematic, retrievable manner.

5. Consulting with senior buyer in supplying vendor

information and availability of product.

6. Maintaining useful and up-to-date vendor list.

7. Maintaining up-to-date information relative to the procurement area that
may affect centralization or good business practices.

8. Preparing confidential information.

9. General office duties.

10. Performing other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Good verbal and written communication skills.

2. Ability to type, file, enter data, and perform simple bookkeeping.

3. Ability to write clearly and concisely.

4. 2 - 5 years of experience in a purchasing-related environment.

5. Ability to research and interpret data.

6. Knowledge of vendor and product relationships.

7. Ability to meet deadlines and have strong sense of urgency

8. Positive, proactive, and have a strong teamwork attitude.

9. Must be resourceful, detail-oriented, and have prior experience working in a fast-paced environment.

10. Knowledge of inventory control, MRP system, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
