A global leader in the delivery of advanced lifting systems and service solutions, our client improves their customers' productivity and safety. An opportunity has now arisen for a parts Buyer to join their UK Parts Centre.
If you want to further your buying career in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, this is a real opportunity to take part in a wide variety of procurement activities and project management.
As a Buyer, you will be responsible for the procurement of parts for cranes, machine tool maintenance services and related accessories.
Working as part of a team, you will purchase a range of items such as motors, electrical components, machined components and much more. You will ensure items meet quality, delivery, and specification requirements at the lowest possible cost.
Your key duties will include:
- sourcing new suppliers, negotiating prices, terms and conditions and assessing supplier performance
- requesting corrective action when required, and expediting material orders
- getting involved with indirect procurement for logistics and fleet management
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- buying experience
- an ERP systems background
- an understanding of supply chain management operational concepts surrounding purchasing, logistics, incoming product inspection and inventory control
- a detailed knowledge of engineering procurement requirements
- a degree
As a Buyer, you must be IT literate with a strong knowledge of MS Excel. Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills are also key.
