General Description
The ideal candidate will have experience developing, preparing, sending, and receiving, document requests for quotes (RFQ) for a wide range of complex products. You will work directly with domestic and international suppliers in support of products requirements. As buyer, you will take full ownership of procurement, supplier sourcing, supplier quality and contracts negotiation across mechanical and electrical commodities and components
Responsibilities:
Evaluates sources, establishes and maintains a supplier base to assure lead time, pricing, quality and on-time complete delivery of materials to meet Moog Videolarm production requirements
Investigates and establishes cost savings, cost reductions and value analysis opportunities in accordance with departmental goals and objectives
Support engineering by producing accurate costing to deliver new products and specifications
Negotiates contract terms and conditions, coordinates design reviews, communicates quality requirements and provides consistent availability of products
Make recommendations for make or buy
Coordinate with Marketing and Engineering to support and manage the development and launch of new products
Develop suppliers to maximize part availability with minimal inventory investment
Aggressively pursue cost reductions
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience NAPM and/or APICS certification a plus
Knowledgeable of global sourcing
Must be computer literate (MS Office) - knowledge of Intuitive ERP a plus
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Minimum 3 years purchasing experience (manufacturing environment preferred)
