IMPORT PRODUCTS BUYER to join our Beaverton, Oregon team.

 

Job Summary:     The Import Buyer is responsible for all aspects of purchasing, inventory control and vendor relations with overseas factories who manufacture our proprietary brands.  The ideal candidate will have experience managing long lead time purchases with overseas vendors.

 

 

Job Functions and Responsibilities:

 

·        Reviews product based on demand and promotional activity, analyzes recommended order quantity

in accordance with required minimums, lead times and safety stock levels

·        Responsible for meeting margin, inventory turn and fill rate goals for assigned lines

·        Analyzes sales history and market trends that impact buying  decisions and strategies

·        Establishes and maintains strong relationships with vendors, interfaces with company sales and marketing teams

·        Monitors suppliers to ensure production and shipping schedules are met, expedites production/shipment as needed

·        Works with broker on shipping arrangements and customs clearance, brokerage fee verification and approval

·        Processing of all import shipping documents

·        Monitors company CT-PAT program to ensure proper compliance and certification

·        Reviews finished goods as received to verify all products were purchased and produced according to company specifications

·        Responsible for review and maintenance  of all line, item and vendor information that impacts forecasting accuracy

 

 

Requirements:

·        Excellent organization, communication and negotiation skills

·        Strong attention to detail, with an ability to multi-task and work in a multi-faceted, changing marketplace

·        Able to recognize priorities and organize workload accordingly

·        Strong business math, analytical skills and problem solving capabilities

·        Resourceful, able to research problems and recommend solutions

·        Inventory management experience, specifically with long lead time suppliers

·        Knowledge of import laws and regulations and ability to keep current on and accurately interpret and follow government and customs guidelines.

·        Previous Import Buying experience

·        Experience with Infor SX.Enterprise or similar ERP distribution software a plus

·        Proficient in MS Office

·        Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
