Senior Procurement Assistant

The client is a global software reseller, and Microsoft large account specialist. The business services all verticals, from banks to charities; and large corporates.  The UK team has shown tremendous growth, as a result we require a candidate to support our procurement team.

The ideal candidate will be able to be customer facing, as we placing procurement services onsite with our larger accounts. The procurement team is working towards resilience through to tier 3 software products, so accurate vendor engagement is needed at all levels to support our client’s requests.


Principal Accountabilities

·         To communicate with suppliers

·         Chasing ETA’s as part of a routine process

·         Place purchase orders in line with business process

·         Sourcing queries and proposal support

·         Knowledge on terms and conditions

·         Contract handling and management       

·         Administration

·         Request credits and invoices

·         Understand sourcing

·         Support our sales function

·         Participate in Continuous Improvement activities

 

·         Education and Skills

·         Have a background in IT purchasing, preferably software management

·         CIPS

·         History of successful supplier development

·         Strong negotiation skills

·         Comfortable with working autonomously

·         Understand global practices and trends

·         Superior communication and presentation skills

·         Be able to work effectively within a team environment

·         Have experienced prior customer facing role and relationship management
