Buyer Primary Duties and Responsibilities: · Prioritize purchase orders that have customer orders attached to them, including allocation of available inventory at the assigned plants against planning needs based on warehouse inventory levels and/or customer back orders. · Track status of orders with vendors, forwarders, brokers, US Customs and inland freight carriers via e-Ports and carrier?s web sites · Monitor shipments for on-time delivery. Maintain approved price list within JDE price catalogs and Lotus Notes folders. · Enter purchase orders for products into SAP / Lotus for shipment. Process purchase orders and send to domestic and international vendors. Confirm that vendor-received orders agree with pricing and date they will be able to produce and ship the order. · Resolve accounts payable workflow issues on invoicing and purchase order discrepancies. · Enter planning needs into SAP Qualifications : · College degree in a related field and minimum 2 years of related work experience. · Good PC skills and an intermediate level proficiency with Word, Excel and other Microsoft applications. Oracle, JDE or SAP experience a plus. Good oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communications skills; ability to effectively exercise tact, discretion, judgment and diplomacy when interacting and/or negotiating with internal and external customers, and senior management, etc. · Ability to maintain high level of accuracy while producing high volumes under time constraints · Ability to prioritize demands on resources · Good analytical skills · Ability to resolve conflict, seeking the appropriate level of assistance from and interaction with others · Ability to manage situations to which there has been no prior exposure or for which no clear road map exists · Ability and willingness to accept responsibility, willingness to challenge established practices and draw relevant conclusions, including the persistence and willingness to take calculated risk, to stimulate, market and sell new ideas within the organization. · Ability to perform in a high pressure environment and/or crisis situation and render good decisions to resolve the problems, maintain safety and ensure adherence to Corporate Code of Conduct Strong sense of personal and professional ethics.
