- Gain an in depth understanding of the customer's business and business strategy
- Work with internal customers to identify comprehensive TCO reduction opportunities
- Increase the level of application of Strategic Sourcing Methodology (SSM)
- Lead SSM, contract negotiations and supplier selection processes
- Actively support contract implementation by internal customers and resolve supplier and contract issues where necessary.
- Manage existing and new contracts in a proactive manner taking care to allow adequate time for discussions, revisiting scope, TCO analysis, external benchmarking and use of best practices.
3. Define and lead cross-functional sourcing teams
- Define and lead multi BG cross-functional sourcing teams
- Provide team members with direction and support throughout the steps and activities of the applicable project and corresponding strategic sourcing methodology.
- Manage and facilitate collaboration, focus and agreed actions within the cross-functional sourcing team
- Establish relationship with key suppliers
- Implement strategic key supplier development program (SDP)
- Initiate and conduct key supplier audits
- To secure key elements of the SDP (security of supply, competitiveness, quality/compliance, sustainability, innovation/technical improvements, business commitment) in DSM's agreements with third parties
- Collect all relevant information for Category management and discuss business needs in order to gain maximum fit for use
- Enforce contract compliance and provide feedback to Category Management on performance, site specific interactions, BG specific requirements and recommendations.
- Marrying knowledge of the customer's business with competencies of a vast and talented supplier base to extract value for the business.
- Extract synergies between different businesses
Bachelor's Degree preferred, certification a plus along with 5-7 yrs in Purchasing (Indirect), intelligence or marketing sales
- In-depth knowledge in terms of products, services and contracts
- In-depth knowledge of Indirect Spend in terms of business dynamics, markets, innovation requirements and growth opportunity
- Recognized qualification in Purchasing
- Deep understanding and knowledge of Hub/Site business needs
- Change management capabilities
