The Following Opportunity Is NOW Available in Fresno!! Buyer I ndash; SGS Fresno The Buyer is responsible for execution and optimization of many daily purchasing activities and cost analysis with the various operations. The position will be responsible for several areas, including inventory control, product storage/rotation, forecasting, purchase program analysis, reconciliation and internal logistics. Two key functions of this position are to drive change within a structured environment and develop a strong relationship between the various departments and their personnel as well as the supplier community while working to enhance both teams to leverage cost improvements along with operational efficiency within the organization. RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage the daily functions and duties of a Purchasing Agent/Buyer. Develop, support, and manage work procedures, documentation, and corrective action plans as part of a continuous improvement model in the area of purchasing. Assist in the management of inventory control for all departments in conjunction with department managers with a specific emphasis in: Proprietary Products Micronutrients Crop Protection Products Fertilizers Logistics Assist in selecting, developing, forecasting and managing the supply base for products and services while supporting Safety, Quality, and Profitability. Coordinate and manage continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost optimization, EAC consistency and supplier relationship building. Participate in cross-functional teams for problem solving and continuous improvement. Responsible for the reduction, investigation and resolution of RNV issues. REQUIREMENTS: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and/or related training and experience. 2+ years of experience and knowledge in a purchasing position with an agricultural enterprise. Experience putting together and implementing programs and procedures. Ability to react in a fast paced and changing environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to work with all levels of staff and management. Ability to analyze and process large amounts of data, strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems. Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and experience with Inventory and Reporting software.
