Purpose of role:
A Buyer (Non Production) to support a new build project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate within and support established business sourcing strategies.
- Manage supplier relationships to achieve key project milestones for the source and selection of new building requirements.
- Facilitate improvement in Supplier Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD) performance for the project.
- Manage Purchase Order, Purchase Order Schedule in conjunction with the Architect and QS Consultant
- Support Request for Quotation (RFQ) and supplier selection process.
- BOM configuration and control.
- Mitigate, or minimise supply chain risks on the project.
- Manage escalation as appropriate.
- Investigate alternate sources of supply and bench mark pricing.
- Support change and innovation as the project evolves.
- Ensure supply deliverables to project milestone
- Act as an interface between the key stakeholders, project manager and supply chain teams
Basic Qualifications :
- Understanding of business processes with a high degree of commercial acumen.
- Knowledge of large new build projects desirable
- Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally.
- Action focused, driven to deliver concrete and sustainable results.
- CIPs or equivalent qualification attractive
- Candidates must be able to demonstrate a track record of delivering to project and cost milestones, working either independently or as part of a multifunctional team•Construction and fit out contractor knowledge/exposure is a plus
- Proven procurement experience in indirect commodities.
- Experience of utilizing lean CI techniques.
