The Sutter West Bay Region supports our affiliated hospitals, medical foundations and private practices to function as one team - all working together as an integrated delivery system spanning from Lakeport to San Francisco, sharing best practices and delivering better value to our patients. The 7 acute care hospitals that make up the Sutter West Bay Region are as follows: California Pacific Medical Center (1238 beds 4 campuses); Novato Community Hospital (46 beds); Sutter Medical Center Santa Rosa (208 beds); and Sutter Lakeside Hospital (25 critical access beds). In addition to the acute care hospitals, Sutter West Bay Region also consists of the Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation with 3 Medical Groups and 230+ Physicians provide primary and specialty care.

The incumbent's responsibilities include but are not limited to preparing/issuing all purchase orders for properly requisitioned transactions. The incumbent is also responsible for all related material (product/services/equipment) sourcing and overall vendor management. The incumbent is accountable for the timely delivery of all materials to the hospital loading dock and cost saving initiatives inherent in the position. The incumbent acts as the primary contact for sourcing strategies and all material (products/services/equipment) acquisitions for the hospital.

Education:
 
Bachelors Degree with an emphasis in Management and/or Materials Management preferred or equivalent experience required. High school diploma required Coursework in materials management, contract law, accounting and general business management curriculum is highly desirable.
 
?  Experience:
 
Five or more years experience working in a healthcare materials management setting with extensive purchasing required.
 
 
 
 
Knowledge:
 
Familiarity and knowledge of materiel management systems, concepts, principles and methods of procurement, inventory methods, project management, vendor management is necessary.
Working knowledge of related products, services and equipment is preferred. Knowledge and expertise in contract law, database management, and computerized MMIS is highly desirable.
 
Special Skills/Equipment:
 
Ability to prioritize, organize, plan, and communicate in addition to working well with co-workers and customers is essential to success. Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate material changes, introduction of new contracts and product standardization to staff and physicians.  The ability to work with vendor community to ensure proper levels of material and to negotiate cost effective terms and conditions that are favorable to the hospital is paramount. Incumbent must demonstrate basic skill computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel and Lawson MMIS.
