Primary Objective(s)
The buyer handles purchasing activities for spend categories. The buyer has extensive responsibilities for communicating with internal customers, user departments and the contract analyst. This role has independence in resolving issues with suppliers. The buyer is responsible for ensuring that purchases and quality of products and services adhere to contract terms and conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the negotiations of service, terms and pricing for all type of materials and services.
- Monitor, analyze and execute strategies to secure the best possible process, cost and service.
- Assist in the sourcing of new suppliers and supply chain opportunities.
- Monitor, analyze and execute key strategies to secure best possible price, value and service.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills
- Bachelor's degree and professional certification preferred (APICS, CPM, CPSM, ISM, or 5-10 years of experience without a degree.
- SAP experience preferred
- Strong project management skills required
- Good written and verbal communication skills, and service attitude.
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well in a team based environment
- Working knowledge of computer based systems such as Microsoft Office.
- Proven negotiation skills
