MAG INSTRUMENT, INC. the highly successful and growing manufacturer of the Mag-lite® flashlight, has an immediate opening for an experienced professional to join our growing, future-oriented enterprise.
Summary of Responsibilities:
· Perform purchasing tasks, many of which can be routine in nature, for a limited number of commodities, frequently for repeat orders or releases against annual or other purchase contracts.
· Responsible for administering the master purchase order release system -a complex system developed to sustain uninterrupted high volume production operations and a just-in-time inventory management program.
· Responsible for identifying and developing prospective vendors as primary and secondary sources of supply through RFQ, competitive bidding procedures, and by coordinating vendor qualification efforts.
· Analyze and evaluate competitive bids.
· Follow up on expected delivery dates.
Qualifications: Ideal candidate must have 3 – 5 years experience in purchasing in a high volume manufacturing environment. Familiar with purchasing the following commodities: castings, machined parts, raw material, sheet metal details, o’rings, contacts, and outside processing in direct support of production requirements. Excellent communication and organization skills, computer literate in MS Word and Excel and AS400 experience a plus. Bachelors Degree preferred.
