Sourcing Specialist The Sourcing Specialist is part of the Maintenance, Repair and Operations MRO Capital sourcing team, which manages the sourcing needs for a group of business/function category teams or on a project basis. The Sourcing Specialist role is to negotiate spot purchases for capital projects, implement contracts, and manage related work processes typically on large, international capital projects. This position creates value by providing appropriate input into the development and implementation of sourcing strategies, as well a for the implementation of commercial agreements and spot purchase orders. Will be responsible for various sourcing activities pertaining to running the business and contract management, as well providing support for the Supply Manager in implementing and executing strategy and agreements. The targeted discipline commodity focus for this role is Engineered Equipment Process Containment Equipment PCE, Mechanical or/ Electrical . The Sourcing Specialist will also support all clients in the business and functions that these category areas support. By applying market knowledge and tactical negotiation skills, the main objective will be to add value to the discipline commodity you will be sourcing and to maximize value delivery to Client's Businesses and the Global Engineering Solutions organization. Where applicable you may draft, negotiate and ultimately own a contract with a supplier. You will be a key team member within one or more commodity areas, receiving functional leadership from various Capital/ MRO Purchasing Leaders and respective Sourcing Managers, while reporting administratively to the Global Capital Purchasing Resource Leader. Education: - Bachelor s University degree Preferred Experience: - 5 + years industrial experience - Experience working with dynamic, results oriented Engineering Procurement Construction Management teams, across Petrochemical and/or Oil and Gas industries. - Responsibilities - Focus on value delivery and sustainable competitive advantage for the Business Partner. - Practical versus strategic approach to opportunities - Teamwork and communication - Excellent negotiation skills - Initiative to continually improve the work process implementation and to challenge inefficiencies, process deviations, and strategy deviations. - Initiative, leadership, knowledge, and communication skills to advocate Purchasing policies and processes - Ability to persuade others through effective communication skills both oral and written - Willingness and ability to challenge inefficiencies and process deviations, and strategy deviations - Utilization of data manipulation and analysis skills to effectively communicate - Exhibition of strong work ethic and responsiveness, to earn respect of clients - Ability to look beyond local site for aggregation and process simplification opportunities - Willingness to accept responsibility to proactively lead the resolution of any disconnects within the entire purchasing process - Implement commercial agreements and associated work processes for products and services as delegated by the Sourcing Manager. - Maintain basic knowledge of suppliers and relevant market developments such as mergers and acquisitions, financial status and changes in key personnel. Communicate where applicable to the Supplier Management Teams. - Utilize available Sourcing tools to the fullest capability, to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the Purchasing process. - Assist with the prequalification and site access processes related to on-site labor, including securement of Hold Harmless/Proof of Insurance documentation. - Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, and effectively manage quality service / product performance issues with suppliers. - Intervene with suppliers on applicable quality. W2/HOURLY PAY RATE: Open (based upon experience and qualifications) There is no relocation budgeted for this position.
