Buyer/Planner (EOSL/EOL) Job in Reading RG16NY, Home Counties UK
One of our leading Global IT companies in the Thames Valley area are urgently looking to recruit a Buyer with expertise in EOSL (End of Service Life) / EOL within an IT environment. This role will be supporting the Global Service requirements for EOSL/EOL. Having the capability to analyse and highlight shortages and be able to challenge circumstances where required.
Duties:
• Analyse Products around EOSL dates, identifying parts that make up their Bill of Materials (BOMs). Review the BOMs to support demand until the extended EOSL date.
• Highlight risk, advising alternatives that can meet customer needs until EOSL.
• Supply Chain expertise (Repair, Quality Engineering, Supplier Engineering and Test Engineering)
• Drive sourcing of hardware
• Submit spend actual forecasting data
Expertise:
• Supply Chain Planning
• Operations within a high technology environment
• Extensive knowledge of sourcing electronic computer parts
• Sun/Oracle product knowledge would be beneficial
• Hardware parts sourcing capabilities for End of Service Life Parts
• Strong Negotiation Skills mandatory
• Attention detail - follow-up and follow through
• Analytical in approach
• Strong spreadsheet and analytical skills
