C# / C++ PHD Candidate – High Frequency Development Trading Role, Equity – Hedge Fund – London, recruitment

My client, an established Hedge Fund in London are looking for a strong and talented C# / C++ High Frequency/Low Latency Developer to join there expanding collaborative environment. Through continued strength and profits, there is a chance for an exceptional technical, hands on developer to really make a noticeable contribution to this successful hedge fund within the algorithmic trading space and participate in cutting-edge, ambitious new Greenfield projects. While previous experience within the Equity business previously isn’t required, the client is looking for an exceptional C# /C++ developer with a passion for high frequency trading or market-making businesses and who is in the top 5% of their game.

You will need to be confident, motivated and able to work in a fast paced environment. Technically you will be an expert in C#/ C++/OMS/SQL/boost.

The successful candidate will need to be a technical specialist, and will have the key responsibility of designing, building and implementing a High-Performance, High Frequency Trading engine to provide core operations, functionality and connectivity to other areas of the business and parts of the architecture.

The system itself will be Ultra Low Latency and will implement multiple asset classes of low-latency automated trading strategies. The system will also enable greater transparency and control over trading, real-time, to enabled detailed analysis. The High Frequency C#/ C++ Developer will also have the responsibility of ensuring that the trading system has real-time risk and status reporting capabilities. The system will also control a number of strategies and enable several processes to run simultaneously and the Developer will also be responsible for the design and implementation of the Order Management System.

The successful High Frequency Trading developer will work in an open and collaborative environment. Key decisions will be discussed openly among the team to maintain control over the direction of the project.

Key skills:

• Solid experience in a High Performance/ High Frequency Trading environment

• Solid C#/C++ coding ability, preferably on Linux

• Networking exposure is advantageous (TCP/IP)

• FIX/BOOST/OMS/SQL

• PERL/PYTHON

• Exchanges Connectivity

Key Responsibilities:

• Execution algorithms in equities and futures; Development included: high performance IP Multicast messaging infrastructure; order management system (OMS) with generalised exchange gateway interface; FIX 4.x.

• Research database with compressed tick data, including full order book depth.

• Replaced extant trading and modelling infrastructure to vastly increase performance and scalability;

• Implementation of trading algorithms; advising on scaling up of existing infrastructure to facilitate higher equity trading volumes.

• Experience with various connectivity to Exchanges: LiffeConnect and Eurex VALUES exchange gateways and data feeds; ComStock data feed.
