Our client is a leading global trading firm that has offices in multiple locations globally and a reputation for innovative use of cutting edge technologies to capture financial markets opportunities. Due to significant growth in the use of database technology to highlight market opportunities through a complex Data Model they are now looking for an additional, entry to mid-level C# Application Support Developer with strong SQL or PL/SQL and VBA skills along with Financial Services experience to join the team.
The Team has been growing steadily over the last 5 years as it establishes knowledge from very large captured data sets to help show financial markets trends and opportunities. This is achieved through using OO principles on large and robust databases, and thus requires very strong technologists to manipulate the possibilities of what database coding can do to create new software tools and applications. They have one of the strongest technical make-ups of any database engineering team in Australia and are constantly looking to evolve through RAD / Prototyping new concepts to push the boundaries of information use.
As a Support Analyst Programmer you will be responsible for the Maintenance, Support and Development of various Applications used in Daily Back and Middle Office processing. To be successful in this role you will leverage on your C#, VBA and PL/SQL development skills along with a strong understanding of OO principals to provide highly specific support and minor development fixes to a highly complex system. This will see you take full responsibility and ownership of problem through to resolution for daily Production Operations. While focused on C# and PL/SQL development this role will encompass a broad range of technologies including: C/C++, Java, VB6, XL and TOAD.

Requirements of the role:
- 2+ years’ experience developing in C# (Essential).
- 2+ years’ experience with SQL or PL/SQL development (Essential).
- Financial Services experience (Essential), ideally Middle/Back Office.
- A strong understanding of database principles for linking, querying, amending and triggering events.
- Experience with VBA Access / Excel and strong OO development principals.
- Experience with VB6, XL, C/C++, Java and TOAD in addition to key skills a benefit.
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication skills, Attention to detail and standards.
- Experience in an Application Support / Production Support Role.
- An IT degree and/or industry relevant certifications.
- Experience with PnL, Market Data Feeds: Reuters, Bloomberg (Highly desirable).
