C++ or Java Software Developer
C++ or Java Software Developer required in Southampton by a large, well-established software house. The role will involve development of large, multi-threaded, server-side systems built around C++, Java, Unix/Linux and Oracle with opportunities to participate in all stages of development from requirements analysis, through design, development and testing. The company are large well-established, but their relentless investment in RD and their continual adoption of new technologies methodologies means that they are far from being a dinosaur. If you want the security of a large, stable company but are also looking for opportunities to work on cutting edge technology and learn new skills then it could be the ideal role.
The ideal candidate would be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline with strong OO design skills and experience working on large, server-side systems using C++ or Java. You should be happy to take on work in either language (training can be provided). You should ideally have experience with Unix/Linux and knowledge of SQL (Oracle preferred). Experience with Multi-threading, Java, XML, XSL, Xpath or SQLite would also be desirable.
