C# Software developer

This position supports tasking in Patuxent River, MD. The successful candidate will perform a variety of software development and maintenance activities for the project. The focus for this position will be the design, development, testing, and documentation of an C# based application. The developer will apply documented project processes and tools to ensure that quality standards for development and configuration management are applied to the project?s software development effort. Given the nature of software development and the IT industry in general, there is an expectation that this person shall be willing to research new IT technologies, trends, and issues at the request of project managers. The successful candidate shall follow organizational standards and procedures for software development and modification. Education: The candidate must be working toward an associates or bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience: Applicable related work experience is desired. Formal education/training or on-the-job experience with javascript or C++ or C# is also required along with experience using Microsoft Excel. Experience performing software debugging and debugging techniques preferably in Visual Studio.Net is desired. A solid math background is preferred. Experience with AJAX based controls is preferred. Experience with developing charting tools for the web is a plus. Experience in preparing documentation familiarity with industry standard documents normally generated during software lifecycle. Experience with developing graphical user interfaces is preferred. Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of object oriented design is required. Knowledge of scheduling systems/Microsoft Project is beneficial. Knowledge of the latest advances in software development tools is a plus.
