The incumbent is responsible for the processing and support of complete, accurate, and timely valuation and financial statements for large and complex daily and monthly valued clients as well as the resolution of any problems that arise during the normal valuation processes, and the communication of this information to all interested parties. S/He will be supporting a mix of multi-billion dollar institutional clients with at least one/generally two clients in the BNYM top 100. S/He must understand all standard/customized client accounting/reporting requirements and be able to leverage his/her knowledge of our system and services to provide solutions to unique client requirements. S/He will have consistent client contact with mid level as well as contact with senior level client staff and must be able to address their issues/challenges in an effective fashion. S/He must have a strong understanding of all groups that support the department. S/He will be responsible for timely and accurate trade settlements and the full investment of cash balances. S/He must use her/his understanding of our business in order to appropriately manage the risk inherent in our relationships and our overall business. S/He will need to provide limited training in specific processes to Specialists I.

Additional responsibilities include:
- Supporting management in the day-to-day efforts related to regulatory reporting and internal controls reviews.
- Review and analyze subscription documents and other AML/KYC documents received from investors for regulatory compliance with applicable laws and regulations pertaining to hedge funds and other alternative investment funds.
- Perform non-documentary searches on all investors, ensuring that potential investors have no negative information, are not politically exposed persons and pose no reputational threat to either our client or BNY Mellon.
- Review and analyze daily alerts received regarding investors/contacts through AML software system.
- Monitor cash activity related to investors and liaise with Investor Services, Custody, and clients regarding same. If a discrepancy exists, prepare a memo accordingly and log same for distribution to the global compliance group.
- Perform internal control reviews of the processes and procedures performed by the various AIS/CAAG teams that provide administrative services to clients.
- Assist in coordination of the SOC1 report and other audit reviews performed by internal and external audit groups.
- Assist in other ad- hoc projects/initiatives.
- This position will focus heavily on risk mitigation, through the design, review, and support of detailed control procedures and exception reports. The incumbent will use his/her understanding of the differing client structures, processes, etc. to assist in effectively minimizing risk across the group.

Qualifications

The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of related work experience. S/He will have general knowledge of securities and trust accounting theories and practices. S/he must be detail oriented, analytical, organized, and proficient in Excel, Word, and Access. S/he must have ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast paced, deadline driven, high risk environment that is constantly changing. S/He should have very strong verbal communication and strong client servicing skills with a focus on exceeding client needs and requirements. Must have ability to work flexible schedules that may include frequent overtime.
