Job Description
With the Army National Guards thousands of personnel and countless missions, the need for communications goes beyond vitally important to absolute necessity, because without ongoing and reliable communication, systems fail, orders do not get relayed, and missions come to a grinding halt.
Thats why the Army National Guard fields the communications maintenance team to keep the Army National Guard talking. Cable Systems Installer/Maintainers are primarily responsible for installing, operating, and maintaining cable and wire communications systems, communication security devices and associated equipment, including communications and electric cables between utility poles.
Become a Cable Systems Installer/Maintainer and you will also gain the skills necessary for a future with civilian companies or Government agencies that design, repair, or make communications and electronic equipment. You may even get the opportunity to expand your certifications and credentials to make you that much more attractive to civilian employers.

Job training for a Cable Systems Installer/Maintainer consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, and eight weeks of Advanced Individual Training. Training consists of both classroom and field work.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications. Actual MOS assignment may depend on MOS availability. Benefits subject to change.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (If you do not have a diploma or GED, you may still apply ask a Recruiter about how the Army National Guard can help you earn your GED.)
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
- Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
