Essential Functions: - The Cache/Unix Support Engineer primary job responsibilities will be as follows: - Perform tasks associated with projects as assigned, including hardware and software installation and configuration working under the direction of a senior team member or project manager. - Perform installation of Cache code into non-prod environments. Perform simple Cache code installation into production environments. - Investigate production and non-production errors reported by the user community, meeting agreed upon SLAs; provide troubleshooting, root cause analysis and problem resolution. - Provide rotating shift coverage and be a part of 24x7 on-call support and production system monitoring schedule, this includes working weekends and evenings as needed. - Work on new application deployment and enhancement projects with KP and vendor resources. - Receive business requirements from the designated SI lead (typically, Regional Production Support Manager or Regional Engineering Manger), analyze them and develop technical specifications. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: -Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or 4 additional years of work experience. -Minimum of 8years of information technology experience. -Minimum of 5 yearsof software development experience in a software vendor or IT setting. -Experience with deployment and/or support of a large, packaged software is required. -Must have in-depth expertise in UNIX based middleware technologies, frameworks, andinfrastructure. - Must have solid experience with one of the following databases (Oracle, Db2, SQL). - Soft Skills/Work Ethic: - Must be able to work ina fast-paced environment. - Must be self-motivated and must enjoy challenges in the work environment. - Strong problem-solving and communication skills are a must. - Must have extensive experience developing technical solutions in demanding production support situations in which mean time to restore (MTTR) service is small in the event of adverse impact to production. - The individual will need to keep his or her knowledge current as vendors provide new product features and adopt new technologies. - Will report to the Regional Production Support Manager who has overall responsibility for the deployment and production support Kaiser's electronic medical record system and supporting infrastructure. Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree in computer science or related field is highly desired. - EPIC product knowledge is highly desired. -Knowledge of CACHE/MUMPS is desired. - Technical Certification is a plus.
