Control Southern, Inc. is seeking an experienced CAD Designer to join the team in Suwanee, GA.
Position Summary
Identify opportunities for assigned territory/market segments to help our customers achieve improved business results while growing sales and maximizing gross margin. Lead all project pursuit campaigns for same and close respective orders. Develop and implement weekly sales plans to profitably grow the business for assigned territory and/or market segment
Job Duties:
- work jointly with peer engineering teams, customers, and vendors to complete product designs across all phases of development using AutoCAD software.
- Plan and conduct independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.
- Devise new approaches to problems, and prepare or modify drawings and specifications.
- Develop technical drawing templates and standards.
- Performs hands on design and preparation of drawings using AutoCAD software.
- Drawings may include Electrical Cabinet Layout, Cabinet Power Distribution, Motor Elementary, Instrument Loop Sheets, Single Line, and PIDs.
- Assumes role of technical resource to construction, client site engineering management and design team.
- Keeps open communication with construction, client site engineering management, client operations and design team.
- Responsible for the overall quality of the Hardware design packages.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Associates Degree in a field related to Engineering, Design or equivalent technical experience.
- 1 - 5 years experience in the instrumentation/ process control industry
- Experience with PLC and DCS systems
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer relation skills are a must.
- Microsoft Office proficiency is a must.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD is a must.
- Ability to Travel (less than 20%)
- Experience with the following standards: ANSI, NEC, ASME, ISA, IEEE, IEC, NEMA, ISO.
- The ability to interpret technical documents, requirements and design specifications with aggressive attention to detail.
- Technical writing proficiency and skills with Microsoft Office products.
