CAD / GIS Analyst Job in Calgary T2a7, Alberta Canada
Golder is looking for a motivated individual to join the Information Management team as a CAD/GIS Analyst supporting multiple internal clients. The successful candidate must have experience and be comfortable working in both CAD and GIS and applying best practices for geomatics and data management. Client focus and consulting approach will be important along with excellent interpersonal skills as they will be working with clients and staff at all levels within our company.
Responsibilities include:
- Build and maintain project data for use in both GIS and CAD systems;
- Identify opportunities and constraints to data management and analysis;
- Conduct GIS analysis under the direction of project leads;
- Plan, prioritize and schedule workload to properly serve multiple internal and external clients.
The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Undergraduate degree in related discipline or technical diploma and offsetting experience;
- More than 3 years of experience in geospatial technology;
- Understand the fundamentals of Geomatics, CAD and Geographic Information Systems;
- Familiar with a variety of spatial data formats, types and projections / datums;
- Experienced user of Autocad, (Map and/or 3D Civil) and ArcGIS tools and extensions (3D Analyst and Spatial Analyst);
- Solid understanding of the complementary role of GIS and CAD in data management;
- Good understanding of digital elevation data and related formats;
- Understanding of quality control measures appropriate for information management and cartography;
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills;
- Project and client focused with regard to timelines/team engagement/communication/schedules;
- Strong written and spoken communication skills.
