CAD TECHNICIAN
CAD Technician position for engineering consulting firm in Naples, Florida. The
CAD Technician is a developmental position working under minimal supervision to support a project team by drafting detailed drawings, conducting research and preparing final documents for various projects. In this role, an employee will be expected to develop and demonstrate proficiency within the following responsibilities and competencies.
Typical Duties
- Work with engineers, surveyors and/or PM's to produce construction plans, zoning drawings, surveys, etc.
- Perform site walks.
- Be able to contact and work with local utility companies to design clients' proposed utility requirements.
- Produce construction drawings per client specifications.
- Produce zoning drawings per local jurisdiction specifications.
- Manage multiple projects at one time.
- Ensure successful completion of multiple projects on time and under budget while maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Serve as a resource to the design staff on matters concerning drafting practices and procedures.
- Coordinate activities of individuals in CAD department.
- Enter, access, retrieve, analyze and revise data as directed based on RWA standard procedures. Manage the responsibilities incorporated with preliminary and final drawings, excel spreadsheets, and research documents.
- Utilize AutoCAD and related engineering software packages to complete assignments such as preparing structuring design, topographic surveys, preliminary site layout plans, and preliminary concept plans on time and within prescribed standards as outlined in the Atwell Product Quality Manual or CAD Standards Manual.
- Organize base drawing files utilizing AutoCAD and related software packages such as; the latest in-house version of AutoCad.
- Produce detailed and finished drawings by making revisions from senior project team member's comments and plans.
- Prepare construction sets for submittal to clients, municipalities, agencies and others as directed. This includes stamping with appropriate seal as approved by the Project Manager and obtain appropriate signature.
- Communicate with Project Manager and Team Leader on workload status in order to meet designated chargeability goals.
Requirements
- Must have 3+ years of AutoCAD experience in a Civil engineering environment
- Proficient in AutoCad and related engineering software packages.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have excellent organizational skills and be detail oriented.
- Ability to interact effectively with other team members.
- Excellent skills in Outlook, Excel and MS Word.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and quickly changing work environment with strict deadlines.
- Must be able to work independently without supervision.
