Job Description
The Calypso University Technical Trainer is responsible for training activities and deliverables supporting our clients, partners, and internal employee community as part of a new board-level initiative to implement a world-class knowledge acquisition program. This highly visible role will work cross-functionally to successfully develop and deliver classroom training content and learning solutions for Calypso technical courses. The successful candidate must work effectively within deadlines, and commit to completing high quality deliverables on or ahead of schedule. He/she will be a high energy team player, and be willing/able to collaborate, whether responding to other requests, or asking for assistance. The successful candidate must be able to deliver training on a rotating basis at Calypso training centers in New York, London, and Singapore.
Responsibilities:

Provide quality onsite technical training to highly skilled specialists for Calypso University scheduled classes and custom client classes.

Maintain Calypso system technology and architecture expertise

Participate in the development of training strategies, content, and materials

Demonstrate superior technical and presentation skills at all times

Take ownership of the student learning experience

Support on-going maintenance of current courses and eLearning modules
Skills Requirements
Calypso is looking for individuals who love engaging and teaching students and possess:
-
Current experience training or presenting to a banking/capital markets IT audience
-
2+ years with a capital markets technology vendor or industry consulting firm—integration and Calypso custom development experience a plus
-
2+ years experience in commercial software development including Java, Swing, JDBC, RMI, J2EE

Knowledge of relational databases and SQL including work experience with Oracle or Sybase
-
Demonstrated instructional experience including needs assessment, design, development, execution and evaluation skills

Web-based training development skills highly desirable
-
Ability to convey information clearly through formal and informal written documents and verbal communications

Ability to work with subject matter experts at all levels

BA/BS or higher in preferably, but not limited to the following domains:

Computer Science

Engineering
-
Mathematics
-
Willingness and ability to travel internationally, managing a travel schedule of 25% or more
