General Summary
Responsible for delivering high quality academic programs and maintaining the academic integrity of the institution.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Academic Department
- Ensure compliance with CEC policies and procedures as well as institutional and programmatic accreditors
- Recruit, select, develop, train and evaluate the faculty and academic staff.
- Maintain schedule of faculty observations for all new and existing faculty members
- Measure the outcomes of the educational process to ensure that all programs meet their objectives and the requirements of the state and the accrediting bodies.
- Interact with students frequently to ensure students are satisfied and all grievances are resolved.
- Manage the Institution’s retention plan and serve as liaison between faculty and Program Chairs.
- Oversee the development of new curricula.
- Participate in commencement ceremonies.
- Oversee evening and weekend programs.
- Develop the academic budget and manage expenditures throughout the year.
- Maintain student records.
- Review transcripts for college transfer students to determine the acceptability of transfer credits.
- Design, develop and revise catalog, faculty handbook, and student handbook.
- Administer the scheduling process to maximize student/teacher ratios and classroom utilization.
- Administer student registration.
- Coordinate Advisory Boards for each program.
- Coordinate and participate in new student orientation.
- Enforce all school policies.
- Develop and implement retention policies and practices.
- Coordinate the faculty development process.
- Maintain student management database.
- Communicate regularly with Admissions to ensure adequate product knowledge.
- Work closely, keeping lines of communication open with Career Services Department, Admissions, and other key departments.

Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree required. Master’s preferred.
- Minimum of five years management experience in higher education and/or corporate environment.
- Proprietary school experience preferred.
