Overiew

The role will be challenging and varied. It will offer exposure to all areas of the corporate division and to senior management. Over time the successful applicant will develop an excellent understanding of how the firm functions and working relationships at all levels across the firm.   Good analytical and communication skills, together with an aptitude to learn, are more important than specific experience or background.   The ability to maintain confidentiality will be essential.

Role

• Preparation and analysis of management information relating to the running of the Corporate Division

• Analysis and presentations in support of strategic proposals and initiatives

• Working with corporate communication on Town Hall presentations and other senior management communications

• Writing presentations for senior management to deliver to clients, regulators and other third parties

• Ad hoc project management

• Managing budget, expenses and approvals for the HQ function

Skills and Experience

• Degree or equivalent

• Knowledge of basic accounting concepts

• Understanding of how an investment bank works at an operational level

• Advanced knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint

• Attention to detail

• Good written and oral communication skills

• Ability to present complex subjects in a accessible manner

• Ability to build relationships and work with others through influence (rather than authority)

Ability to interact confidently with senior management
