Capacity Manager (IT) Financial Exchange recruitment
We have an immediate requirement for a Capacity manager with a global financial electronic trading exchange (Derivatives, Options, Futures). To support the System Design Authorities in meeting the performance and capacity requirements for their low latency trading platform.
This is reporting to the Global Capacity and Performance Management departments, focusing on the identification and resolution of performance or capacity issues that impact live derivatives environments.
The key accountabilities of this role include:
• Actively participating in the reporting, storage and collecting of essential performance metrics as a part of a global team.
• Oversee the delivery of data and presentations associated with application performance reviews.
• Understand nuances specific to performance and provide expertise to Development of tuning applications.
• Specify requirements in regards to performance and capacity for system and network components.
• Capacity and performance Design Assessment: Provides an assessment of how a proposed design meets the performance and capacity requirements.
• Contribution to other Technical Products that cover the following areas:
-Test Plan Approach
-Test Case Review
-Test Review
-Support Documentation
• Respond to performance and capacity issues that effect the live production environment.
• Assist Service Management and Metrics in the reporting of performance statistics.
• Identify gaps in the performance and capacity monitoring of the production infrastructure and recommend appropriate corrective action.
• Prioritise performance and capacity monitoring improvements pending action to ensure the SLA affecting improvements are implemented first.
• Project meetings to represent performance and capacity interest.
• Provide technical expertise in assisting the project to resolve performance and capacity issues.
• Capacity and performance Post-Implementation Assessment: Provides an assessment of how the implementation meets the performance and capacity requirements.
• Review all outstanding BIR’s to scope into each project.
• Ensure that the severity of all BIR’s that could adversely effect the performance or current capacity requirements are correctly rated.
• Review BIR’s generated during the technical testing phase of each project and ensure the correct severity is assigned.
• Provide technical advise in resolving BIR’s generated during the technical testing phase.
• Review technical test results (DTC’s)
• Specify technical tests (DTC’s)
Required:
• Strong SQL and Data Transformation Skills.
• Strong Data Analysis and Interpretation.
• Strong understanding of application performance/ behaviour
• Knowledge of capacity modelling.
• Project Test planning review.
• Pre- and post-implementation assessment.
Desirable:
• PERL or some other scripting language.
• Statistical understanding/ modelling
• Master Degree preferred- Informational systems or equivalent experience.
